By looking a bit deeper to the activities of the FEMA I came across their website on which startpage they have a map to show where have been disasters throughout the year – nearly half of the states is covered „yellow“ in this map. FEMA gets criticsm because they finance the rebuilding of houses which have been blown/slipped away in high risk areas. In germany we have managed this through higher insurrance rates in high risk areas.
