So I havent blogged for a while-and yes,twitter is one reason for that 😉
Many things have happened: I now live in a cute flat in ehrenfeld in cologne, with direct view to the Dom – unfortunately I am not yet ready, and I have to live with the boxes 😉 it’s too much work to do-but I don’t want to complain- no, not for a second! Motionet is really growing and we mamaged to finish some really exciting projects this year- and there are still some great new customers to be anounced 😉 but for me personally our p2p in-browser streaming tool emundoo is the most exciting project,and I’m really proud of what we managed to reach this year – there is still a long way to go, but we are going into first public tests by the beginning of the new year,and boy: these partners really rock…
I’m not quite sure how the current financial crisis will work out and if our business will be affected- but we have a great team and so I think we will manage what will come whatsoever…
I’ve just organized my first holidays since ages: I am going to fly to Stockholm, Sweden, on the 27th for some days and will then take the ferry to Riga, Lattvia-I am going to meet a good friend of mine and stay there for new year-during planning I found couchsurfing.com a very cool community for finding and sharing your couch with people from all over the world:for Stockholm alone there seem to be more than 1000 acommodation possibilities -that’s impressive. Let’s see how things are going to work out-I’ll let you know and post some „cold) pictures 😉

got a reminder today from typepad regarding my blog account: the credtit card information wasn’t valid anymore. DOI had to remember the „good“ times when oli got me into blogging which was back in 2003-yes we are getting old 😉 and I had to remember some strange kind of deal oli and I made to pay each others typepad account because we got one year for free for that. Don’t remember what kind of goodie typepad gave us back then exactly…;)

For over a year our team has developed emundoo, and we are now in "geek mode" which means, we are running a closed alpha to find all the bugs and cracks we need to fix to offer emundoo to the public asap.

How does it work

                                 
                        

In
its current implementation emundoo in essence provides you with a local
streaming server that will fetch the data you request on demand from
the emundoo network. The emundoo network is comprised of personal
computers around the globe running the emundoo client software. Each
time a video is requested by a user, the video data is transferred as
needed to the user’s local machine, where a portion of the data is
stored for later redistribution to other participating machines.

We found a workaround for the OSX svn problem: You might want to add this small pre-commit script to your svn which checks for umlauts before commit and gives the user a warning:

For quite a large project we booked MySQL Enterprise Support. As always when working with 3rd party companies we needed to set up an NDA with them. Unfortunately MySQL germany is not able today to accept our standard NDA – they have to use the american version which allows MySQL to use everything their consultants do not „write down“, but „keep in their minds“. I’ve never seen such an NDA up today – and of course we could not accept that 😉
