As the german SPIEGEL reports in its online issue, the mars roboter „opportunity“ sent wonderful pictures to earth having a resolution of about 8000 x 3000 pixels. It is said, that details are from such high quality that you can see even sandkorns. Well, it was very interesting to know in which format the pictures are sent: How can you transfer such big pictures in such short time over millions of kilometres? It would be a very nice format for the internet, too 😉
Mmh, what a cool idea: Pepsi uses 20 kids who where sued by the music industry for illegal music download for its newest advertising campaign: it will be shown at the superbowl event on feb. 01, and shows the kids with Pepsi bottles, saying that they still download music. and they are allowed to, because pepsi offers 100 million free downloads from Apples iTunes -> you can get the download code from the labels on the bottles… Read the full article.

Not that there was enough whacky stuff on TV! NO! It comes even worse: K1010 – will start a TV program, as mediabiz.de (in german) reports. It is an interactive-gaming show, where you can play „online“ games. But the most astonishing thing is, that scholz and friends, a very respectablly ad agency, has major parts of k1010 gmbh. it seems that money has no shame…
It will start in few minutes: at 21 CET Mr. Bush will talk to his nation – and to the world in his „state of the union“ speech. In an election-year it is the most important speech! What he will take about? He will say just little about the worse situation in iraq; I think the cenatral themes will be of inner-political kind: he has to find a moderate position between the conservative and the democratic voters. maybe about health care? Anyway, let`s see, and if you are able to watch it: do it 😉
we all know about the major problem of the internet: find the right information you need. so, uddi.org is going to implement a new standard (basing on xml, …) to connect webservices. the goal i see in it, is to connect different businesses togehter: why should the internet customer book his flight, his hotel, his car,…, at different companies?connect them with one standard, and he gets nice holidays just by booking the hotel. the rest will be done automatically: based on the data the user filled in when booking the hotel, a car will be rented (by choosing the cheapest one from the different connected carcompanies), the flight will be booked (by choosing from the cheapest airline) and so on. it is a very interesting technology, and when you see, which companies stand behind it, you can guess, it will be a success (maybe..;-)
what an astonishing news: t-mobile started its first umts service on thursday. as n24.de reports, nokia is going to sell the first umts handy next week.
